Radio Adaptor Unit
(RAU)

Radio Adaptor Unit (RAU) is a rugged and compact device designed to extend radio handset connectivity over a distance of up to 2 km using a single pair of copper wire. Designed for use in operational environments to deceive footprint of the Radio and extending communication to the Commander remotely located from the ‘Communication Centre’. It interfaces directly with the radio via a dedicated interconnect cable. It connects to the radio via an interconnect cable, with spring-loaded terminals for field wire connection. Powered by either the radio set or an external battery, it also supports ELCOM’s Advanced Field Telephone (AFT1001) in radio mode over the same wire pair.
